About DWWNB
As a professional cosmetologist, with over 20 years of experience in hair, nails and makeup, I was very excited to try the Bare Escentuals® mineral makeup line, but I was a bit hesitant about the price of the starter kits direct from the company. I thought, what if the color isn't right? Or, I just don't like the product? I found an EBAY® seller who had just what I was looking for-a starter set that has samples of the products in smaller quantities for a much lower price. Once I tried the BE line, I was hooked and wanted to try every color they made! But back to my original thought-what if I don't like it? I really didn't want to be stuck with a full jar of something that I wasn't going to wear, so back to EBAY® I went. In a short time I found that while there were many sellers with samples of Bare Minerals, most were selling a tiny amount for a very high price. I had the thought that if I could sell a larger size sample, for a more reasonable price, not only could I share a great product with a lot of people, but I could also expand my own collection of colors and make a little "pin" money on the side. Thus was Dancing White Wolfs' Native Beauty born.
My EBAY® Experience
I started my EBAY® store with a few listings and colors, and expanded from there, adding new stock and creating new sets of colors that I thought my buyers might like. I soon had a group of loyal customers who gave me all kinds a great ideas and suggestions, and became wonderful friends as well. For three years, my EBAY® business grew steadily, both in clientele and income. I enjoyed a small success, and made lots of friends all over the world. But in early 2007, I began to have problems with EBAY® itself. First came an increase in fees. I took this in stride at first, keeping my prices the same, but making less profit. Next came another problem-EBAY® forced me to change the way my items were listed, threatening to suspend me as a seller if I did not comply. I spent a lot of time, and lost a lot of money in fees changing over 300 items so that I could keep my EBAY® store up and running. In May of 2007, I was hit with another problem. This time I was informed by EBAY®, that I could no longer sell samples of cosmetics on their site. My entire business, with its' many longtime loyal customers was now in serious jeopardy. Fortunately, I was not the only EBAY® seller who was unhappy with the changes taking place on the site. A good friend who was also a longtime EBAY® seller had set up his own website, and offered to help me do the same. So here I am, starting over again. The difference this time is that I am in control, and with that in mind, I hope that I can rebuild my business back to what it was when I was forced to leave EBAY®.
